In support of the recently awarded Air National Guard's (ANG) C-130 Multi-Mission Crew Trainer (MMCT) contract, the Engineering and Analysis Solutions Directorate (EASD) of AMERICAN SYSTEMS has an immediate opening for a Contractor Operations and Maintenance Support (COMS) Specialist in Little Rock, AR.
The highly qualified candidate will be part of a team of military professionals supporting a 5-year mission supporting ANG operations, maintenance, and sustainment (OM&S) activities at the 189th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base.
The position, as an Air National Guard C-130 H MMCT COMS specialist, incorporates multiple disciplines. The MMCT COMS Specialist performs duties designed to develop professional knowledge and skills, requiring application of computer, software, and hardware techniques, and the ability to follow procedures and technical criteria to perform a sequence of related operational and maintenance tasks. Performs organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance for an MMCT device, which is a diverse mix of commercial off-the-shelf, and device specific software and hardware designed to provide a robust, dynamic training environment supporting government and commercial end-users.
Primary Job functions:
1. Perform quality operation and maintenance across various MMCT hardware, software and networks to meet contract requirements and to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Possess ability to install and configure computer and monitor systems, including cabling, operating system software, software drivers, application software, audio systems, and power distribution requirements.
3. Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing documentation in often demanding environments with little remote support.
4. Document and report device usage metrics, and write job related reports.
5. Interface with government and commercial representatives for program and equipment support.
6. Provide device operator support, and user on-the-job training as required.
7. Perform logistics and security functions as required.
8. Perform general housekeeping in work area as needed.
9. Maintain a professional working relationship, and a neat and clean dress and appearance.
10. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
1. Applicants must have and maintain a SECRET security clearance during entire time of employment as a COMS technician. Candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and background check as a condition of continued employment.
2. Applicants must also possess a valid United States driver's license, and as required possess or ability to obtain and maintain a United States passport
3. Selected applicants must be able to lift, move, store, or transport items up to 30 lbs. in varied environments.
4. Selected applicants must also be able to work long hours as needed, occasionally unscheduled per the needs of the end-users.
1. Experience and ability to install, configure, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electronics, computer hardware, peripherals, software, applications, networks, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
2. Ability to interpret and comprehend schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to evaluate, troubleshoot, isolate and repair malfunctions, and to perform system calibrations and operational checks.
3. Proven ability to provide liaison activities with customers, AMERICAN SYSTEMS Corporation, and other program support personnel.
4. Ability to screen assignments for unusual or difficult problems to determine a course of action and procedures to be applied on non-routine work.
5. Complete Comp TIA A+ certification.
6. Must be able to work as a team member, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or technical discipline or related field from an accredited/military school is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Proven understanding of Information Assurance (IA) or Cyber Security.
3. DOD military, or civilian aviation experience background, including field and training system service center operation.
4. Possess exceptional oral and written communications skills and the ability to work independently.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
