3 Quick Apply Full-time 2 hours ago Full Job Description Primary Purpose The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall manufacturing excellence for the Rineco Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility.
Providing leadership and direction for safe and compliant operations and financial performance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
Ability to build a 'safety first' culture within all levels of the organization that is substantive and is driven as much by operations management as it is by safety professionals.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to understand the technical aspects of the operation, find the safety risks within that operation and develop engineering or administrative controls to mitigate risks.
Assume Plant Emergency Coordinator duties in the event of an emergency.
Ability to set the example and infuse the culture with the company hierarchy of values of safety, regulatory compliance and profitable growth.
Ability to hold employees accountable with fairness and coaching mentality and to place and/or assess people in the right positions and to make adjustments as needed to fit company needs.
Ability to clearly communicate with a wide variety of people from entry level employees to company owners.
Ability to build / enhance a team environment with everyone working toward a common goal.
Maintain and build upon existing community relation efforts.
Works with multiple departments (i.
e.
, sales, customer service, transportation, billing, etc.
) to ensure smooth running business processes.
Works with peers throughout the Heritage network to ensure best practices are shared.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all Heritage departments.
Ability to determine when detailed knowledge is required and to gain that knowledge in order to decide best course.
Ability to lead diverse teams to solve complex problems, to solve problems in the hierarchy of safety, regulatory compliance and profitability and to listen to all opinions with unbiased attention.
Ability to set metrics and goals that help drive profitable results; to collect, if needed, and analyze financial and/or operational data to pinpoint issues; to develop and implement realistic budgets that meet ownership expectations.
Monitor cost of plant operations, engaging in continuous improvement projects to positively impact operating margins for the organization.

Education:
Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering or science discipline required
Experience:
10 years in hazardous waste operations and/or chemical plant operations in a leadership role (plant management, operations management) required.
Heavy emphasis on safety leadership and Process Safety Management.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and RCRA regulations required.
Prior P&L responsibility required.
Technical knowledge of equipment and/or processes with chemistry background being a plus.
Knowledge & Abilities:
This is a safety sensitive position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry.
Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirator.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
A post offer drug screen will be required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
